عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْت رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم يَقُولُ:
'An Anasi bni Mālikin raḍiya-llāhu 'anhu qāl: sami'tu rasūla-llāhi ṣalla-llāhu 'alayhi wa sallama yaqūl:
On the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA), I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
"قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ!"
"Qālallāhu ta'ālā: yā bna Ādam!"
"Allah the Almighty has said: O son of Adam!"
"إنَّكَ مَا دَعَوْتنِي وَرَجَوْتنِي"
"innaka mā da'awtanī wa rajawtanī"
"As long as you call upon Me and ask of Me,"
"غَفَرْتُ لَك عَلَى مَا كَانَ مِنْك وَلَا أُبَالِي"
"ghafartu laka 'alā mā kāna minka wa lā ubālī"
"I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind."
"يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ! لَوْ بَلَغَتْ ذُنُوبُك عَنَانَ السَّمَاءِ"
"yā bna Ādam! law balaghat dhunūbuka 'anānas-samā'"
"O son of Adam! Were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky,"
"ثُمَّ اسْتَغْفَرْتنِي غَفَرْتُ لَك"
"thummast-aghfartanī ghafartu lak"
"and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you."
رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Rawāhut-Tirmidhiyyu wa qāl: ḥadīthun ḥasanun ṣaḥīḥ.
Related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.
