عَنْ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه و سلم قَالَ:
'Anin-Nawwāsi bni Sam'āna raḍiya-llāhu 'anhu 'anin-nabiyyi ṣalla-llāhu 'alayhi wa sallama qāl:
On the authority of an-Nawas bin Sam’an (RA) from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said:
"الْبِرُّ حُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ،"
"Al-birru ḥusnul-khuluq,"
"Righteousness is good character,"
"وَالْإِثْمُ مَا حَاكَ فِي صَدْرِك،"
"wal-ithmu mā ḥāka fī ṣadrik,"
"and sin is that which wavers in your heart"
"وَكَرِهْت أَنْ يَطَّلِعَ عَلَيْهِ النَّاسُ"
"wa karihta ay-yaṭṭali'a 'alayhin-nās"
"and you would hate for people to find out about it."
رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.
