عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ:
'An Abī Hurayrata raḍiya-llāhu 'anhu qāl:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said:
"قَالَ رَسُول اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم:"
"Qāla rasūlu-llāhi ṣalla-llāhu 'alayhi wa sallama:"
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:"
"إنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى قَالَ:"
"Innallāha ta'ālā qāl:"
"Allah the Almighty has said:"
"مَنْ عَادَى لِي وَلِيًّا"
"Man 'ādā lī waliyyan"
"Whoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine,"
"فَقْد آذَنْتهُ بِالْحَرْبِ،"
"faqad ādhantuhū bil-ḥarb,"
"I shall be at war with him."
"وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِشَيْءٍ"
"wa mā taqarraba ilayya 'abdī bi-shay'in"
"And My slave does not draw near to Me with anything"
"أَحَبَّ إلَيَّ مِمَّا افْتَرَضْتُهُ عَلَيْهِ،"
"aḥabba ilayya mimmāf-taraḍtuhū 'alayh,"
"more beloved to Me than the religious duties I have imposed upon him."
"وَلَا يَزَالُ عَبْدِي يَتَقَرَّبُ إلَيَّ بِالنَّوَافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ"
"wa lā yazālu 'abdī yataqarrabu ilayya bin-nawāfili ḥattā uḥibbah"
"And My slave continues to draw near to Me with optional works until I love him."
