عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
'An Abi Hurayrata radiyallahu 'anhu, qala: Qala Rasulullahi sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
قَالَ اللَّهُ:
Qalallahu:
Allah said:
يَسُبُّ بَنُو آدَمَ الدَّهْرَ،
Yasubbu Banu Adama-d-Dahr,
Sons of Adam inveigh against [the vicissitudes of] Time,
وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ،
wa ana-d-Dahr,
and I am Time,
بِيَدِي اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ.
biyadiya-l-laylu wa-n-nahar.
in My hand is the night and the day.
رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ (وَكَذَلِكَ مُسْلِمٌ).
Rawahu-l-Bukhari (wa kadhalika Muslimun).
It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim).
