عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
'An Abi Hurayrata radiyallahu 'anhu qala: Qala Rasulullahi sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ.
Innallaha idha ahabba 'abdan da'a Jibril, faqala: inni uhibbu fulanan fa-ahibbahu.
If Allah has loved a servant of His, He calls Gabriel and says: I love So-and-so, therefore love him.
فَيُحِبُّهُ جِبْرِيلُ. ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي السَّمَاءِ فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ. فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ.
Fayuhibbuhu Jibril. Thumma yunadi fi-s-sama'i fayaqul: Innallaha yuhibbu fulanan fa-ahibbuhu. Fayuhibbuhu ahlu-s-sama'.
So Gabriel loves him. Then he calls out in heaven, saying: Allah loves So-and-so, therefore love him. And the inhabitants of heaven love him.
ثُمَّ يُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ.
Thumma yuda'u lahu-l-qabulu fi-l-ard.
Then acceptance is established for him on earth.
وَإِذَا اللَّهُ أَبْغَضَ عَبْدًا، دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ فَيَقُولُ: إِنِّي أُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا فَأَبْغِضْهُ. فَيُبْغِضُهُ جِبْرِيلُ.
Wa idha-llahu abghada 'abdan, da'a Jibrila fayaqul: inni ubghidu fulanan fa-abghidhu. Fayubghiduhu Jibril.
And if Allah has abhorred a servant of His, He calls Gabriel and says: I abhor So-and-so, therefore abhor him. So Gabriel abhors him.
ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا فَأَبْغِضُوهُ. فَيُبْغِضُونَهُ.
Thumma yunadi fi ahli-s-sama': Innallaha yubghidu fulanan fa-abghiduhu. Fayubghidunahu.
Then Gabriel calls out to the inhabitants of heaven: Allah abhors So-and-so, therefore abhor him. So they abhor him.
ثُمَّ تُوضَعُ لَهُ الْبَغْضَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ.
Thumma tuda'u lahu-l-baghda'u fi-l-ard.
And abhorrence is established for him on earth.
رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ (وَكَذَلِكَ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَمَالِكٌ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ).
Rawahu Muslimun (wa kadhalika-l-Bukhari wa Malikun wa-t-Tirmidhi).
